A game-based educational platform that supports teaching early math concepts for children with dyscalculia.
Keeping children engaged with math is a growing concern, especially those who struggle with dyscalculia, a specific learning disability that makes it hard to do math and tasks involving math. Children with dyscalculia may have difficulty understanding number-related concepts or using symbols or functions needed for success in mathematics. With math being a cumulative subject where students build upon concepts over consecutive years, many parents worry about their child's progress in this subject if they appear disconnected early on.
MathWhiz is a game-based platform for dyscalculic kids to teach early math skills by playing visual games integrated with digital manipulatives, mimicking real-world learning tools found in classrooms everywhere. It also helps kids become young thinkers and exercise their critical thinking skills to solve everyday problems. MathWhiz also features robust and immediate reporting tools for both teachers and parents. MathWhiz can allow the students to work at their own pace and get adaptive animated feedback that personalizes their experience. By presenting math concepts in non-routine ways, children are required to think outside the box and creatively apply what they have learned to solve problems.
